Med-Ophthalmology – Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh – ( 24007004 )The University of Pittsburgh StreetLab is looking for a Post Doctoral Researcher. The research mission of the lab is the promotion and maintenance of independence of individuals with low vision conditions by understanding their needs and abilities in various domains and exploring the use of current and new technologies. Housed in the Department of Ophthalmology in the School of Medicine, the Pittsburgh StreetLab is used by an interdisciplinary team of researchers and is designed and equipped to analyze the dynamics of human motion, including balance, gait, and fine motor tasks. The Post Doctoral Researcher will conduct and contribute to research focused on the development of outcome metrics for functional assessments of low vision.
Duties or Responsibilities:
o Develop and conduct own research protocols
o Assist in data collection and analysis of ongoing protocols
o Manuscript and grant writing
o Facilitate multidisciplinary research
o Assist in mentoring junior trainees
- Expectations or Qualifications:
o PhD in Bioengineering or Biomedical Engineering
o Experience with Human Subject research
o Ability to write and publish articles
o Ability to participate in conferences (posters and/or oral presentations)
o Ability to write own grants and contribute to collaborative grants
o Proficient in programming (Matlab or Python)
o Proficient in Microsoft Office
