The University of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Music Education (Orchestral Specialist) position. This 9-month, tenure-track facutly position is Open Rank and will begin August 16, 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain excellence in scholarly research and publication; direct and teach courses in undergraduate string music education including methods classes; supervise student teachers; teach graduate courses; advise graduate students, including the completion of master’s theses and PhD dissertations; direct the USC String Project, a nationally recognized community program now in its 51st year. Other duties, including service, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have completed PhD in music education at the time of hire. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in elementary, secondary, and higher education and student recruitment.
