Job Description: IT Manager (1099 Contract)

Job Description:
This is a 1099 contract position with a Monday to Friday-work schedule during standard business hours. The duration of the role will be 2 to 3 weeks. The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the organization’s IT network, ensuring optimal performance and security. This role involves troubleshooting network issues, providing hands-on support for hardware and software, and managing IT equipment inventory. The IT Manager also establishes and maintains relationships with vendors, negotiates contracts, and evaluates vendor performance. Leading a team of IT support staff, the manager conducts regular meetings, performance reviews, and training programs. Additionally, the IT Manager leads IT projects, collaborating with other departments to meet their IT needs while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Network Management:
    • Oversee daily IT network operations.
    • Ensure network performance and security.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
    • Implement and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).

 

  • Onsite Support:
    • Provide hands-on support for hardware and software issues.
    • Assist employees with IT-related problems.
    • Manage and maintain IT equipment inventory.
  • Vendor Management: 
    • Establish and maintain vendor relationships.
    • Negotiate contracts and ensure SLA compliance.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and manage procurement.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and mentor IT support staff.
    • Conduct team meetings and performance reviews.
    • Develop and implement IT training programs.

 

  • Project Management:
    • Lead IT projects from planning to execution.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Collaborate with departments to meet IT needs.
    • Monitor project progress and report to senior management.

 

Skillset:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in network management and troubleshooting.
    • Knowledge of IT infrastructure (servers, routers, switches, firewalls).
    • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and enterprise applications.

 

  • Vendor Management:
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
    • Ability to evaluate vendor performance and manage procurement.
    • Experience with IT vendor relationships.

 

  • Leadership and Communication:
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to conduct training sessions and performance reviews.

 

  • Problem-Solving:

Certifications (Preferred):

  • ITIL, PMP, or other relevant certifications.
  • Certifications in network management (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+).
