Lindsey Wilson College, a United Methodist affiliated liberal arts college located in south central Kentucky, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Ensembles. Located on more than 200 partially wooded acres on a hilltop in Columbia, Kentucky, LWC is in the heart of south-central Kentucky, in the foothills of Appalachia. Within an hour of Columbia, there are multiple opportunities for outdoor recreation as Lindsey Wilson is located near several major tourist attractions including Lake Cumberland, Mammoth Cave National Park, and Cumberland Falls. It is also less than two hours from the cultural opportunities available in Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN.

Interested candidates holding a terminal degree (DMA, Ph.D.) in Music are encouraged to apply; ABD will be considered. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in choral music and be capable of leading the Lindsey Wilson College Singers. The Lindsey Wilson College Singers are organized on professional standards to represent the College as a performing arts ensemble.

The Singers tour extensively and have represented Kentucky in performances nationally and internationally. Candidates with expertise in music production or a background in the music industry are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, academic advising, ongoing professional development, collaboration with other faculty, and service.

Preference will be given to individuals with experience in college teaching as well as experience in demonstrating leadership abilities in administering, evolving/growing, and conducting a sustainable choral performance program. The ensemble’s visibility in our community and beyond is significant.
