The MAC Lab (Manufacturing Automation and Control Laboratory at Notre Dame) Research Scientist will focus on applying computational mechanics fundamentals to the gifital metal forming
process. The position will be supported through funded projects and the Research Scientist will be responsible for making progress on the proposed work via the following responsibilities: designing and conducting simulations and experimental studies and performing data analysis, supervising and mentoring students and collaborating with other lab members to further project progress, and writing journal papers and preparing conference presentations.

Please note that this is a 2-year limited term position with possible renewal dependent upon funding.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related Field
  • At least 3 years of experience
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Methods, background in computational mechanical and materials, good communication skills
